Bar Fun Finder is a service of Bar Fun Finder LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company ("Bar Fun Finder," "we," "us"). This policy explains what information we collect when you use our mobile app, website and owner dashboard (together, the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

The short version: We collect only what we need to run the app. We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your phone number or text-message consent with anyone for marketing. You can delete your account and your data inside the app at any time.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

Account details: your name, email address, ZIP code and date of birth (used to confirm you are old enough to use the Service).
Optional details: phone number, a profile photo, your notification radius, the kinds of events you want alerts for, the bars you save as favorites, and whether you agree to receive text messages.
If you sign in with Google or Apple: we receive the basic profile information they share with us, such as your name and email address. Apple lets you hide your real email address, and if you do, we only see Apple's private relay address.
If you are a bar, charity or advertiser: your business and contact details, the listing information you post (events, specials, photos, job postings), and the details you provide when you buy a subscription, boost or advertisement.

Information collected automatically

Basic technical information that our service providers collect to keep the Service running and secure, such as device type, app version and error logs.
Counts of how many times a sponsor ad was shown or tapped. These counts are not tied to your identity.

Location. With your permission, the app uses your device's location to show you bars, events and specials near you, including when you are traveling. We only use your location while you are using the app. We do not track you in the background, and we do not keep a history of where you have been. Your location is used to run searches and show the map, which may involve sending it to Google Maps Platform and Places. You can turn location off at any time in your phone's Settings, and the app will still work if you type in a ZIP code, city or address instead.

Payments. Customers do not pay in the app. Bars, charities and advertisers pay through Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers.

2. How we use information

To create and manage your account and show you bars, events and specials near you, using your location if you allow it.
To send the alerts you ask for, in the app and, if you opt in, by text message.
To let bars and charities manage their listings and purchase promotional products.
To show sponsor advertising and measure how many people see it.
To keep the Service safe, prevent fraud and abuse, fix problems and improve features.
To answer your questions and meet our legal obligations.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only with:

Service providers who help us run the Service, under their own privacy terms: Google (Firebase for sign-in, database, file storage and hosting; Google Maps Platform and Places for search), Apple (Sign in with Apple), Stripe (payments from bars, charities and advertisers), and our text-message provider, Twilio, when text alerts are available.
Other people, as part of the Service: if you are a bar or charity, the listing information you post is public. Your profile photo and name are not shown to other customers or to bars.
Legal and safety: when we believe in good faith that the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety and property of users, the public or us.
Business changes: if Bar Fun Finder is involved in a merger, sale or similar transaction, your information may transfer to the new owner, who must honor this policy.

Sponsors and advertisers do not receive your personal information. They only see overall counts of views and taps.

4. Text messages

We only send text alerts to people who have turned on the SMS option in their profile. Message and data rates may apply. You can stop texts at any time by replying STOP or by turning the option off in the app. We do not share your phone number or your text-message consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes.

5. How long we keep information

We keep your information while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your profile record, profile photos, saved bars and alert choices, and we remove your sign-in. Some copies may remain in backups for a short period before they are overwritten. We may keep limited records, such as payment and tax records for bars, charities and advertisers, as long as the law requires.

6. Your choices and rights

Access and update: you can view and edit your details on the Profile screen.
Delete your account: open Profile in the app and tap Delete Account (at the bottom of the screen). You can also email us at the address below.
Turn off texts or alerts: reply STOP, or change your settings in the app.
Location: you can allow or deny location access, or change it later, in your phone's Settings under Bar Fun Finder.
Privacy laws: depending on where you live, such as Minnesota or California, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, and to receive a copy. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. To make a request, email us. We may need to confirm your identity, and we will respond within the time the law requires.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls provided by our hosting providers. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Age requirement

The Service includes information about bars, alcohol and charitable gambling, so it is meant for adults of legal drinking age (21 or older in the United States). We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. If you believe a younger person has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

9. Where your information is processed

The Service is operated from the United States, and your information is processed and stored in the United States.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make important changes, we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
